“It is my deep belief that the Baltic Sea Region has all necessary preconditions to become one of the most competitive regions in the world and, first of all, an attractive place to live”. Welcoming words to the Summit participants from the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania.
Welcoming Greetings from the Minister of Foreign Affairs
“Vilnius is happy to welcome the participants of the 12th Baltic Development Forum Summit 1-2 June 2010, as well as the Heads of Government and their representatives who will meet at the 8th Baltic Sea States Summit that takes place in parallel and concludes the Lithuanian Presidency of the Council of the Baltic Sea States,- says the Foreign Minister of Lithuania Audronius Ažubalis.”
He continues: “Both Summits will address the existing and future challenges for the economies of the Baltic Sea Region as well as effective solutions to achieve higher competitiveness and recovery. To fulfill this objective we should bring a modern, innovative and “green” approach into everyday practices and develop missing infrastructure links. It is my deep belief that the Baltic Sea Region has all necessary preconditions to become one of the most competitive regions in the world and, first of all, an attractive place to live. Creativity, new ideas, absence of barriers, enhanced human contacts, openness towards the neighbors – this is our vision for the next 10 years.”
Baltic Development Forum is proud to be working in close cooperation with the Lithuanian government, the current President of CBSS, in the preparations of the upcoming BDF Summit in Vilnius.
