"Hansa Reinvented" conference on 29-30 October in Groningen
19 October 2009
Baltic Development Forum is proud to be a strategic partner to the “Hansa Reinvented”conference,
to be held in Groningen, the Netherlands, on 29-30 October 2009.
Among the conference organizers are Nordconnect and the Northern
Netherlands Provinces, active members of Baltic Development Forum.
The event is also supported by Gasunie, BDF strategic partner,
based in Groningen.
Baltic Development Forum Director Hans Brask will take part in the
conference as a speaker.
The “Hansa Reinvented” conference is a sign of the growing interest
in the Baltic Sea Region and its strong networks that goes beyond the
national level. The Northern Netherlands Provinces see a strategic
interest in creating a closer link to Northern Europe.
Similarly, it is in the interest of the Baltic Sea Region cooperation
to invite countries and partners outside the region to the regional
networks. This would reinforce the image and distinctiveness of
the Baltic Sea Region as comprised of very open and international
economies.
The Fehmarn Belt Bridge between Denmark and Germany will in
due course contribute to strengthening the connection to and access
of the adjacent areas to the Baltic Sea Region, thus further increasing
competitiveness and growth in the Baltic Sea Region. In this sense
Nordconnect in the Netherlands is already paving the way, welcomed
by Baltic Development Forum.
We invite our network to grasp the opportunity to broaden the networks.
See you in Groningen.
