![]() EU Baltic Sea Strategy - Roundtable on Prosperity31 Oct 2008 The European Commission will host workshops and sessions at the upcoming BDF Summit 30 November - 2 December in Copenhagen and Malmo on the topic "How to make the Balitc Sea Region a Prosperous Place".
Baltic Development Forum Summit 2008 is arranged in cooperation with the European Commission and will, by the hosted workshops and sessions in the programme, provide concrete input to the EU Baltic Sea Region Strategy and the area of a prosperous and competitive region. The roundtable is one of four meetings concerning various issues of the Baltic Sea Region organized in preparation of the Baltic Sea Strategy to be presented by the European Commission in 2009. Decision makers as well as practitioners representing business, policy and academia from all Baltic Sea Region countries will be present at the consultative discussions during the workshops. The overall objective will be to provide answers to the question on how to make the Baltic Sea Region a prosperous place. The interactive workshops and sessions will be introduced on 1 December at 09.00 by Commissioner for Regional Policy Danuta Hübner and Prime Minister of Denmark Anders Fogh Rasmussen. The areas of focus are Innovation, Internal Market, Entrepreneurship, Russia, Energy and Labour Markets. |
