Governance structures in the Baltic Sea Region – a Curable Headache
The question of governance and institutional capacity of the Baltic Sea Region’s organizations has become a key issue in the political debate about the future EU strategy for the Baltic Sea Region and implementation of its action plan. At the Baltic Development Forum 2008 Summit, this question will be addressed.
The Summit is part of the Commission’s extensive consultation process, where everybody in the region is also invited to take part and share views and opinions at the Commission’s (DG Region) homepage.
Read here how Baltic Development Forum’s director gives his proposal as to how the problem of governance can be addresses. Flexible and adjustable platforms of the key stakeholders is one way of ensuring the necessary capacity to help and act on behalf of the European Commission in monitoring, vitalizing and implementing the Strategy’s action plan.
