Annual Partner and Member Meeting 2006On 31 March 2006, Baltic Development Forum met with its Partners and Members to discuss critical issues and priorities for the Baltic Sea Region in relation to the Helsinki Summit in October.

Director of Baltic Development Ole Frijs-Madsen introduced the meeting topics and the main priorities of Baltic Development Forum for 2006, before handing over moderation of the meeting to TV2 Correspondent Samuel Rachlin. Uffe Ellemann-Jensen, Chairman, Baltic Development Forum focussed on the great opportunities in further regionalisation in the Region. Former Swedish Prime Minister Carl Bildt gave inspiring insight in the Global, the European and the Regional perspectives of the Baltic Sea Region. In his speech President of DONG, Anders Eldrup focussed on the present and future Energy issues and challenges for the region. He points out the strengths and opportunities within the Region but he also formulates the need for a change in the mind map of the Region. Bildt argues for establishing a regional brand for the Region in "Top of Europe". Børge Diderichsen, Vice President of Novo Nordisk supports Carl Bildts suggestion: "Top of Europe". Diderichsen also asks for a sharpened focus on human capital and education within the Region. Future energy supply in the RegionThe following 3 interviews focus on future energy issues in the Region.
