Minister for Foreign Affairs Carl Bildt visited Helsinki on 29-30 October. On Sunday he took part in the opening of the Baltic Development Forum (BDF) annual summit, where Finland’s President Tarja Halonen gave an opening address. Afterwards there was a reception at the Helsinki City Hall hosted by the Mayor.
On Monday Carl Bildt lunched separately with his Finnish colleague Erkki Tuomioja, where the topics discussed included the EU, Serbia/Kosovo and the Middle East. Mr Bildt also met President Halonen at her residence.
