Mission
Our mission is to position the Baltic Sea Region in the EU and on the global map by advancing the growth and competitive potential through partnership between business, government and academia. We initiate and facilitate the creation of strategies, provide thematic analyses and offer a wide networking arena for high-level decision-makers to meet.
Baltic Development Forum achieves this mission by
- Acting as a catalyst, facilitator and developer of concrete projects and strategies;
- Providing a platform for all interested regional parties;

Business-driven: Our main reason d’être is the closeness to the business community and this reflects every decision we take.
Independent: Baltic Development Forum is the general representative of the Region as such, creating a neutral platform for debate, defining and channeling regional objectives. Our agenda and opinion is open for discussion and a key word is transparency, both with regard to business interests and political differences.
Innovative: The objective to develop and innovate must be clear. We pursue the newest information and all our activities should be dynamic and signal new approaches and initiatives. Baltic Development Forum consists of specialised generalists, who analyze the perspectives for future action and go to depth on the relevant issues.
Facilitating: Baltic Development Forum’s role as facilitator of regional integration must be reflected in all activities.
