Boosting Top of Europe
The BDF Summit 2009 took place in Stockholm on 5-6 October under the headline Boosting Top of Europe. It was a major event with many high-level speakers representing politics, business and academia.
The Summit focused on how to stay competitive on the Top of Europe in light of multiple and often interlinked challenges. The current financial and economic situation, the ongoing
climate and energy debate, the water resource as well as security perspectives were European integration be one of the solutions? We need to grasp the opportunity that the upcoming EU Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region will bring.
In relation to the Summit an Exhibition and Networking village was organised, that allowed for more cross-country, cross-sector and cross-level encounters, discussions and debates. It also allowed the business sector to become more involved in the Region’s activities.
