The 18th Baltic Development Forum Summit will take place on 8 November at The Brewery Conference Centre in Stockholm, Sweden, in conjunction with the 7th Strategy Forum of the EU Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region.
Taking stock of the current state of the Baltic Sea Region, the 18h BDF Summit will explore how we can find common ground in a changing environment. Through report launches, panels and interviews the Summit will look closer at the current economic affairs, the political climate, and the potential for business.
Organised by the Baltic Development Forum, the annual Summits have provided a high-level meeting place for regional cross-sectoral dialogue since 1999. See the full list of previous BDF Summits and related materials.
The 7th Strategy Forum of the EUSBSR
The 7th Strategy Forum of the EU Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region (EUSBSR) will be hosted by Sweden together with the Nordic Council of Ministers and in close cooperation with the European Commission. The Strategy Forum will be held on 8-9 November 2016 at the Brewery Conference Centre in Stockholm, Sweden.
The overall thematic focus will be the future for the Baltic Sea Region and a desired vision for 2030. The Strategy Forum will be used to discuss how the EUSBSR can or should contribute to a desired development within its three objectives: Save the Sea, Connect the Region and Increase Prosperity.
The plenaries of the Strategy Forum will be inspirational and provide a global outlook with trends and commitments by 2030 in a Baltic Sea Region context. A novelty for the 7th Strategy Forum of the EUSBSR is an invitation to all active stakeholders to submit proposals to organise political seminars and workshops. Political seminars will be highlighted for specific policy areas and actively promote a more interactive form of meeting. The Strategy Forum will also pay particular attention to the need to facilitate dialogue and networking through a Creative Lounge.
